Independent tasks
(Different from integrated tasks)
Speaking and writing tasks are divided into two types: independent and integrated. There are two independent speaking questions and one independent writing question. This writing task can look very similar to the speaking ones, and you should prepare for them in similar ways. The main difference is that you have thirty minutes to write your essay, so your ideas and arguments should be very well thought out, and you should take a lot of care with your English expression.
You should talk about what you know. Use your knowledge of the world and your personal experience. The topics are always general enough that anyone who has had a high standard of high school education should be able to say something about them. This is your opportunity to show them how interesting you can be.
